Searching for parents and siblings of Frank WEAVER, born March 18, 1857, in Kansas. He was living in Brown County, KS, when he applied for a marriage license in Atchison. (It's possible his family may have lived in Everest in Nemaha County at some time between 1857 and 1885.) He married Lizzie J. Brownfield of Atchison County on his 28th birthday, March 18, 1885, in Effingham, KS. (Her father was Benjamin H. Brownfield.) The Weavers oldest child was my grandfather, Clarence W. Weaver, born in Huron in 1886.

DRUM posted by Sherron Logan on Tuesday, June 10, 1997

1920 Kansas Census-Nemaha Co.-Granada township lists an Earl Drum, age 31 b. KS..father b.Vermont..mother b. Illinois. Although not certain of connection, I believe this man is probably a relative of my g-grandfather, James Leslie Drum. James was born in Vermont and was the son of Henry Drum and Mary Leslie. In 1884, he was living in Ottawa Illinois and was married to Nellie Randle, who was from Alton, Illinois. They had two children, a daughter Eunice and my grandfather, Charles Leslie Drum. I suspect that Earl's father, might have been either a brother or cousin of James. Would really appreciate any information on this family or any other Drum family, in the Kansas area.

Wish to correspond with descendants of Cornelius A. Hale, b. 1822, Kentucky, d. Dec. 1898, near Seneca, Nemaha Co, Kansas, buried in Ford Cem. In 1852 he married Mary Ann Best, daughter of Margaret Harrington and David Best, in Andrew Co., Missouri and in 1855 they and their 6 week old daughter Virginia Catharine Hale Young crossed the Missouri River "on ice" and settled for a time in Doniphan Co, Kansas. On 8 Nov. 1868 another daughter, my great grandmother, Elizabeth Helen Hale was born to them at Troy, Kansas. They later moved to a farm near Seneca. Elizabeth Hale married Eugene Dorcas 9 March 1890 and they had 2 children, Everett Hale Dorcas, b.1891 and Estella Geneva Dorcas, b 19 Nov. 1893. In Feb. 1899 it was the coldest winter in 70 years in Nemaha County. Elizabeth Hale died of smallpox. She is buried beside her parents in Ford Cemetery. I need to know the names of Cornelius A.
