Walter A. Booth, who had been ill for several years due to diabetes passed away in Newhall, Calif., Aug. 12. His body was brought to Wilmore for the funeral services which were held in the Baptist Church in Monday, may 19, at 3:30 p.m. They were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Ernest Lawrence.Walter Smith sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. Frances Ridge, pianist.
The casket bearers were Fred Booth, John Booth, Lester Booth, Charles Booth, Ivan Booth and Donald Booth. Interment was in Crown Hill cemetery near Coldwater.
Obituary Walter Allison Booth, son of James and Cara Belle Booth, was born April 1, 1904, in Reeder township, Kiowa county, Kansas, and passed away in Newhall, Calif., May 12, 1958, at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 12 days.
Walter grew to manhood in Comanche county and was united in marriage with Mary Beebe February 21, 1925, at Coldwater. They made their home in and near Wilmore until August 1, 1936, when they moved to New Hall, Calif., which has since been their home.
To this union were born five children: Walter Jr., Roy and Gwendolyn Marie of Newhall, Ruth Christine and Ruby Nadine, twin daughters, who passed away in infancy. He was preceded in death by his mother, a sister, Leona, and a step-sister, Nadine.
"Buster", as he was commonly called, had been in poor health for several years. He lost his eyesight two years ago and was bedfast the past year, spending much time in the hospital. Through all his trials he was patient and always trusted in the Savior.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Jimmie and Roy; one daughter, Gwenn; four grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, and one son-in-law, all of Newhall, Calif.; his father, James Booth of Coldwater; three sisters, Lucille Roux and Alzine Ray, of Wichita, Kans., and Mildred Wor_man of Phoenix, Ariz.; a step-sister. Bonnie Patton, of Hutchinson, Kans.; two brothers, Lloyd Booth of LaVeta, Colo., and Donald Booth of Coldwater, Kans., besides a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
Walter was a kind husband, father, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
