Funeral services were held in Protection Tuesday afternoon for Chas. W. Moore of Joplin, Mo., who passed away in the Ashland Hospital, Saturday morning, September 28.The rites were held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. G. E. Robey, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducting the service.
The pall bearers were J. J. Edmonston, Claude Rowland, W. U. Keitner, Art Van Wey, W. T. Moore, and Bill Blandin.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Shoemaker sang three numbers, "Whispering Hope, "The Old Rugged Cross, " and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," with Mrs. Lewis Hopkins at the organ.
Interment was made in the Protection cemetery with Peacock Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore was a resident of Protection at one time and numbered many of the older citizens among his friends.
