Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 4, 1960, at 2:00 p.m. in the Baptist church in Wilmore for Floyd Montie Raney who passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 1960 in the Comanche County Hospital following a lengthy illness.Rev. Ernest Lawrence, pastor of the church officiated. Mrs. Grace Gene Ann Lawrence sang "Does Jesus Care?" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Frances Ridge.
Pallbearers were Charles Lenertz, Junior Snyder, Wendel Ferrin, Bob Van Vranken, Royce Richardson and Clarence Gillet.
Interment was in the Wilmore Cemetery at Wilmore, Kansas.
Obituary Mr. Raney, 59, was born February 2, 1901 in Cheyenne, Kansas. He was a mechanic until his health failed.
Survivors include, his wife, Lillian, of the home in Wilmore; two daughters, Mrs. Sherry Shelton, Coldwater and Charvette Raney, Wilmore; two sons, Gene and Gary of Wilmore; his mother, Mrs. Estella Grammon, Luray, Kans.; and father, Robert Pearl Raney, Enid, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Garwood, Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mrs. Jo Anne Derr, Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Douglas, San Pedro, Calif., and Robert, Scandia, Kans.
