Mrs. Fern Sarasien Dies In Washington

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 4, 1960, at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian Church in Coldwater, Kans., for Mrs. Fern Kehl-Sarasien of Kirkland, Washington. She was a former resident of Coldwater.

Rev. Claude Wright, pastor of the Christian church in Coldwater, officiated. Lee Roy Cline and Raymond Cline sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Ivory Palaces" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Roy Burkhall.

Active pallbearers were Eddie Metzger, Walter Thompson, Ralph Griffith, Bill Hackney, Asa Hoofer and Tant Hackney.

Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery near Coldwater, Kansas.

Obituary

Mrs. Fern (Lease) Kehl Sarasien, sixty-six, passed away Sunday, August 28, at Kirkland, Washington, after a long illness.

She was born April 3, 1894, to Steven Strictland Lease and Eva Arminta at Coldwater, Kansas. She was an active member of the Christian church at Coldwater and later at Dodge City and Seattle, Wash.

In September 1914, she was united in marriage to Guy H. Kehl at Coldwater. Two children, Joe H. Kehl and Mrs. Eloise Stone, were born to this union.

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Lease, her husband, Mr. Guy Kehl, her brother, Earl Lease, and sister, Mrs. Carrie Smith, preceded her in death. After Mr. Kehl's death, she and her children moved to Dodge City, Kansas., and later to Seattle, Washington.

In February, 1944, she was united in marriage with Mr. Fred Sarasien at Seattle, Wash.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; son, Joe; daughter, Mrs. Eloise Stone; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Fisk of Bellevue, Wash., and Mrs. Goldie Monroe, Holly, Colo.; five grandchildren; nephews, nieces and a host of friends. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge.

Fern was a devoted wife and mother, she was active in her church and lodge work and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
