Travis Day Cottle was born January 22, 1854, near Carthage, Mo., and departed this life, August 8, 1934, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 16 days.

When he was a small boy he came to Kansas, settling in Linn County, remaining there until the year of 1885 when he came with his wife and children to Kiowa County proving up a claim 10 miles southeast of Greensburg and living there until about six years ago when he and his wife moved to Wilmore where he was familiarly called "Pa Cottle" by grownups as well as the children.

He was united in marriage to Talitha Belle Ice near LaCygne, Kan., May 2, 1875. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Sam Booth, Wilmore, Mrs. Ernest Cantrell, Wichita, and one son, Charley, who preceded him in death two years ago.

He was stricken by paralysis eight weeks ago from which he never recovered, but was a patient sufferer never complaining but always cheerful and thankful to those who administered unto him.

He joined the Christian Church at this place some years ago.

He was a loving husband and father and a faithful friend. He leaves to mourn his going his aged wife and two daughters, five grandchildren, one brother, Tom Cottle, of Oceano, Calif., and a great number of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church at 2:30 Thursday afternoon with Rev. D. B. Bennett in charge. Burial was made in the Wilmore cemetery.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank our many friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and for their assistance during the illness and at the death of our loved one. Also for the beautiful floral offerings.

Mrs. Travis Cottle died at her home here in Wilmore Saturday evening after an illness of several months duration. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church Monday afternoon with Bro. D. B. Bennett in charge.

A male quartet sang, "Some Day, We'll Understand," "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied at the piano by Miss Esther Nettier.

Interment was made in the Wilmore cemetery.

Talitha Belle Ice, born March 5, 1856 in Barricksville, West Virginia, and departed this life at her home in Wilmore, Sept. 29, 1934, at the age of 78 years, six months, 24 days.

She moved from Virginia to Illinois, when 1 years of age, later coming to Linn County, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood. In 1875 she was united in marriage to Travis Cottle near LaCaygne, Kan. To this union, three children were born, Mrs. Sam Booth, Wilmore, Mrs. Ernest Cantrell, Wichita, and Charles, who preceded her in death two years ago.

She came with her husband and children to Kiowa county in 1885 being one of the pioneers of this country, settling on a claim 10 miles southeast of Greensburg, where she made her home until about six years ago when she and her husband moved to Wilmore. She had been confined to her bed for the past six months, but bore up bravely and never complained, was always pleased to have her friends visit her, welcoming them with a smile.

She had been a member of the Christian church for many years. Her first thought and care was for her husband who passed away just seven weeks ago. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, and those who are left to mourn her going are the two daughters, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, two brothers, Jim Ice of Foran, Okla., Gurn Ice, of Foy, Okla., one sister, Mrs. Laura Lewis, Greensburg and a great number of relatives and friends.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank our dear friends and neighbors who rendered assistance during the lingering illness of our beloved mother and the words of comfort spoken and deeds of kindness, rendered at the time of her death, also for the beautiful floral offerings.
