Madison Foree, son of Thomas J. Foree of Wichita, passed away last Friday evening following a severe heart attack which occurred that morning.Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Wilmore on Monday of this week at 2:30 p.m. and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Noel Woods. A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. F. H. Moberley, Gene Dorsey, Rev. Ed Underhill and Valtos Richardson sang "Going Down the Valley," "Near to the Heart of God" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" Mrs. Lauren Ridge was the piano accompanist.
Burial was in the Wilmore cemetery. The pallbearers were Bill Bailey of Coldwater, Arthur Barber and Donald Waters of Greensburg and Oscar Barber and Ed and Roderick Baker of Wilmore.
Obituary Thomas Madison Foree was born July 13, 1905, near Wilmore, Kans., and departed this life at Fairfax, Mo., December 28,. 1951, at the age of 46 years, 5 months and 15 days.
He was the eldest son of Thomas J. and Nannie T. Foree. In early life he was converted and became a member of the Baptist church in Calico Rock, Ark. A few years later he transferred his membership to the Baptist church in Wilmore, Kans.
Mr. Foree was preceded in death by his mother and leaves to mourn their loss his father, Thos. J. Foree, of Wichita, Kans.; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. F. O. Forbes of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. J. Hayden Pyeatt of Fairfax, Mo.; Wallace A. Foree of Hayward, Calif., and R. Bruce Foree of Wichita, Kans.; several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Tom, as he was known by many, was well liked by his many friends and acquaintances wherever he lived.
