Mother

She rocks you in your cradle and she helps you learn to walk. She teaches you to dress and play and even how to talk. She cleans the house and cooks the meals. She mends the clothes you wear and nurses you in sickness with the tenderest of care. She counsels you and guides you in the things you want to do, but does not try to interfere or force her will on you. Her happiness is in your smile, her sorrow in your tears. Her memories are all your words and actions through the years. Your safest place in trouble is in the haven of her hands. And somehow if you're in the wrong, she always understands.
