Obituary

Athal Sheridan Slagle was born November 29, 1907 in Masters, Mo., and died December 15th, 1945, in Alamosa, Colo. He came to Wilmore, Kans., in 1915. On September 7, 1935, he was married to Pearl Horney of Haviland, Kans., and resided in Iuka, Kans., for four years. To this union were born six children, all having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Pearl Slagle, of Wilmore, his mother, Mrs. Fred Jenkins, of Wilmore, his father, E. E. Slagle, of Bolivar, Mo., his step-father, Fred Jenkins, of Wilmore, a half brother, Robert Jenkins, of Wilmore, and a host of friends.

Before his sudden demise, Mr. Slagle had signified his intentions of uniting himself with the Methodist Church, and during the last moments preceding his death had made known the fact that he was ready and willing to meet his Savior and Lord.

When the waters are passed, and the glories unknown,
Burst forth on the wondering eye,
The compassionate Lamb in the midst of the throne,
Shall welcome, encourage and comfort his own.
And say, "Be not afraid, it is I."
