Births reported by the Barnard Bee from 1902-1912 have been gleaned by Craig Trost and are available for search. Births reported by the Barnard Bee from 1913 to February 1916 also were gleaned by Trost and are available for search. The Birth Register also is available for researchers at City Hall in Lincoln. Some birth announcements have been gleaned from Lincoln County newspapers for the 1870s, 1880s and 1890s.

Marriage

Marriage records are available beginning about 1871 at the Clerk of the District Court's office at the Lincoln County Courthouse. Those records have been indexed on a computer by the surnames of both the bride and groom. To request a search or a copy of a marriage record, contact:
Clerk of the District Court
Lincoln County Courthouse
216 E. Lincoln
Lincoln, KS 67455

The clerk will notify you of the cost of your search. Copies from this office are 25 cents apiece.
Some little-known records are those kept at City Hall, in the same book in which births and deaths were recorded. Those marriages cover the years 1886-88 and 1899-1902. These do not differ from the marriages at the courthouse, except that the form for recording these was much more detailed and includes information like parents' names and previous marriages. Marriages reported by Lincoln County newspapers from March 1873 to 1879, the 1880s, 1890-94 and 1895-99 have been transcribed as well.
Marriages reported by the Barnard Bee from 1902-1912 have been gleaned by Craig Trost and are available for search.
Marriages reported by the Barnard Bee from 1913 to February 1916 also have been gleaned by Trost and are available for search.
Early Catholic marriages were recorded in Ellsworth and those records were later copied in Lincoln books. There are a handful of these, ranging from 1878 to 1883..
