Mrs. Lillie Snare, a long time resident of the Wilmore community, passed away at the Comanche County Hospital Wednesday, April 24, 1968.Funeral services were held at the Wilmore Baptist church in Wilmore, Kans., on Saturday, April 27, 1968. Rev. Aljoe Watters was in charge of the services. Mrs. Frances Ridge, organist, accompanied Raymond Cline, who sang "Face to Face" and "Abide With Me."
Pallbearers were Fred Booth, Bob Stewart, Glenn Dillinger, Victor Richardson, Carl Snyder, and August Metzger. Interment was in Wilmore cemetery, Wilmore, Kans.
Obituary Lillie May Snare, daughter of Issac and Wilhemina Jenkins, was born May 6, 1879 at Miltown, Ind., and came to Comanche county as a small child. She married Bruce Snare February 1, 1912 and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1942. She joined the Baptist church January 3, 1926 and was a faithful worker in the church as long as her health permitted. She was an early day school teacher and a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Wilmore, Kans.
She had made her home at the Pioneer Lodge rest home, Coldwater, Kans., since December 2, 1966. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Rachel Michael, Burkeley Springs, W. Va.; three brothers, Clarence Jenkins, Jacksonville, Fla., Ollie Jenkins, Bandera, Texas, J. Otto Jenkins, Sedalia, Mo., several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
