King, Mrs. Robert: Mrs. Robert King died of "internal hemorrhage" shortly after giving birth to a 12-lb. son. Her maiden name was Nancy Jarnagin. Obituary published in The Western Star, January 14, 1893.
Knecht Infant: Died of "bowel trouble" at the age of about four months; son of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Knecht. Obituary published in The Western Star, August 1, 1896.
Anna W. (Darnell) Knecht: "After an illness extending through several weeks, the result of a paralytic stroke, following an attack of heart trouble, and of hemorrhage of the brain, with complications, Mrs. Henry Knecht died at 10 o'clock a.m. on last Sunday, July 1, 1920, at her home in Avilla-tp." Metzger, Mrs. Peter: Mrs. Peter Metzger died at her home near Avilla, aged 74 years, of peritonitis. Obituary published in The Western Star, November 18, 1893.
McBride, Robert: Robert D. McBride, a Civil War veteran, died at his home in Avilla Township on "Wednesday morning at 6 o'clock". He was 52 years old. Obituary published in The Western Star, March 18, 1893.
Dr. H.M. Mitchell: "...aged 50 years died at his home in Avilla last Sunday, June 12th, of dropsy, after a lingering illness of 3 months. He was one of the first settlers in the county, emigrating here in '84 from Carrollton, Mo." Obituary: The Western Star, June 18, 1887.
Renfrow, Samuel: Samuel Renfrow died at home, the son of Edmon Renfrow, of typhoid fever, on November 20, 1895, at 18 years of age. Obituary published 23 Nov 1895, The Western Star, Coldwater, Comanche County, Kansas.
Tade, Richard: Richard Tade was about 12 years old when he succumbed to "typhoid pneumonia". He was the eldest son of George W. Tade of Avilla Township. Obituary published October 19, 1891, The Western Star, Coldwater, Comanche County, Kansas.
