Allen Leighton Cline

Allen Leighton Cline, 91, died Sunday, January 2, 2000, at the Comanche County Hospital, Coldwater, Kansas. Born July 12, 1908, at Coldwater, Kansas, the son of James Marion and Minerva (Metzker) Cline, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Comanche County Road Department.

He was nearly a lifetime resident of Coldwater, Kansas. He attended Coldwater Schools and was a member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Church Men's Sunday School Class, both of Coldwater, Kansas.

On July 2, 1938, he married Ruby Hale at Meade, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include one son: Jerry Cline of Coldwater, Kansas; one daughter: Donna Rush of Coldwater, Kansas; one brother: Junior Cline and his wife Gloria of Coldwater, Kansas; one sister: Jessie Robertson of Harrison, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Curt Rush of Protection, Kansas, Gayla Kissel and her husband Kirk of Protection, Kansas and Amy Sauser of Hays, Kansas; and three great-grandchildren: Megan, Kaycee, and Jessica Kissel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson: Jeffrey Allen Rush; one son-in-law: Harley Rush; four brothers: Hueston, Kenneth, Lee Roy, and Raymond Cline; and three sisters: Leta Thompson, Edith Martin, and Frances Burkhall.

Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at the First Christian Church of Coldwater, Kansas, with Rev. Kent Little presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kansas.

Memorials may be sent to the First Christian Church of Coldwater, in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, Kansas 67029.

Ruby Dona Cline

Ruby Dona Cline, 85, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002, at the Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, Kansas. Born November 14, 1916, in rural Comanche County, Kansas, she was the daughter of Harley and Georgia (Thompson) Hale.

She was nearly a lifetime resident of Coldwater, Kansas. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Coldwater, Kansas. Other memberships include: B.P.W. and Avon Presidents' Club. She was an Avon Representative for over 25 years and she was also a waitress at several local restaurants throughout her life.

On July 2, 1938, she married Allen Leighton Cline at Meade, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2000.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Jerry Cline; one son-in-law: Harley Rush; one grandson: Jeffrey Allen Rush; one brother: Lawrence Hale; and one sister: Freda Davis.

She is survived by one daughter: Donna Rush of Coldwater, Kansas; three sisters: Pauline Keltner of Wichita, Kansas, Thelma Mohler of Meade, Kansas, and Norma Worman of Siletz, Oregon; three grandchildren: Curt Rush of Protection, Kansas, Gayla Kissel and husband Kirk of Protection, Kansas, and Amy Sauser of Olathe, Kansas; and three great-grandchildren: Megan, Kaycee, and Jessica Kissel.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2002, at the First Christian Church in Coldwater, Kansas, with Chet Mendenhall presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kansas.

Memorials may be sent to First Christian Church or Pioneer Lodge in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, Kansas 67029.
